94 Defender 90 LHD All original - SOLD

Im willing to sell my Land rover defender 90 year 1994.

All original (engine, transmission, axels). It is a 2.5 NA diesel engine, 5 speed manual. restored inside and outside. All numbers matching. rust free car (sunny in here pretty all the time).


Upgrades include power steering and power locks (front doors only), KBX grill, custom interior (dash rewrapped, door panels retrimmed, New 5 Sawtooth wheels, brand new wheels BFG 265 75 16 and 30mm spacers, new black paint, original steering wheel, radio installed. a lot of sound deadning that I took from other wrecked cars (doors, footwells, trunck, dash...). Ongoing folding side steps and rear seats to be done the next couple weeks...more than one year of labor to insure the car quality.

Car is in very good shape and condition mechanically (completeley reviewed and serviced)

Car is located in Morocco, Rabat (capital). I originally made it for the US market but still need to wait to Feb 2019 to be US import Legal. So the car is all original

I finally got the tomb raider side steps rather than the folding ones and the look is amazing !! (pic on top before installation)
Rear seats installed too.

3 days with my mechanical cheking any leaks.

Fuel tank changed due to small leak we coudnt find and repare. Radius arm Silent block all changed, transmission mounting rubbers changed.

I am waiting for a good 200 TDI That I will install to enjoy it more meanwhile the car is 25 YO.

The buyer will get both the 2.5 NA and the 200 TDI and T-case that will be installed (+ 3000$) if interested.

Quick update : changed the windscreen to a modern one (green color glass).
The car is not washed just cleaned it myself to spend some time with this beauty (see the roof to see how dirty it was :)

That's a Great looking Defender, I'm sure there is quite a few Rover lovers that would love to have this in their driveway.

The trouble is, its sooooo far away which requires shipping, importing, customs etc... and there is plenty of Defenders around at that same price range already in Canada for Sale. There's been a bit of a flood of imports over the last few years. So if you had CAN $30,000 to spend you would probably choose one already registered in Canada and one that you can crawl under and poke and see up close....

The 2.5 NA hurts it a lot. Most people are craving the TD5s currently and the earlier engines are not fetching a lot of money. A TDI would help, but I think even then it is a bit of a reach at that price point.

I know the 2.5 NA has some bad reputation regarding its on road performance but to insure it can be imported to US market it has to be original...
I am in touch with my mechanical and waiting for a solid 200 TDI and T case to swap into it ...

What about canadian market ? does it need to ne all original too or customs accept modifications such as engine swap ?

I see of course what you mean and it makes sense.
I tried to compare with what is listed and I tried to stay really under the price market, as of course, the potentiel buyer would have to come to see it....I invested a lot to have that result (without counting the tremoundous time spent on it) and also the fact that it could be legally imported in around one year to US market, where prices are waaay more up than in Canada I believe, so even the buyer could make a profit after that if he decides to sell there.
Plus we don't have snow here and the car is really solid and rustfree.
Anyway, I belive I have a good priced product just not in the right side of the atlantic ocean...

Customs does not seem to care. At least I've not heard of them caring about what engine is in it.

As is, IMO, it would sell in the $15000 to $20000 CAD range if it were already here. You have to be careful with looking up prices both in Canada and the USA. There are a lot of high asking prices, but from what I've seen, actual selling prices are much lower.

All right sounds great if they don't care as much as they do in US customs...

Wow sounds very cheap !! Even down here and in Europe it becomes hard to find early models in good condition (late 80' , early 90') at less than 15000 Euros...as the demand in north american market was growing last years...

I think that range of price would make sense for some raw old farm trucks and probably RHD but no way for restored and solid ones...
I see some defenders down here that you cannot even look at it considering how bad the frame and the overall condition are...their prices are around the 15000 C$

And I can't not think about other companies such as arkonik that even though they do excellent show quality they basically keep the car with the same engine (as they export their cars to USA) but their prices are around 100 K$...

Anyway, is there any trusted cars for sale site I can check more the canadian market ?
