4WDABC Sunrise Lake Maintenance Run

#1 Post by sdillen » Thu Sep 22, 2005 2:45 pm

As was discussed at the Four Wheel Drive Association of BC Fall Convention on September 17, I am taking over coordination of the association's Sunrise Lake maintenance activities.

Starting on October 8, The association will be hosting a maintenance/cleanup run to Sunrise Lake on the second Saturday of each month. We will be meeting at the Sasquatch Inn at 9:30, and will be underway to the Weaver Fish Hatchery to air down at 10:00 (Sharp!).
The Sunrise Lake trail is stock friendly (although you can certainly park below v-rock if that section is beyond your comfort level) and everyone is welcome to attend. Based on the number of participants and types of vehicles attending, there may also be some additional trails included.

This is a great opportunity to get out and wheel, to meet a bunch of new people and to check out some trails you may not have been on...all while helping the association in our efforts to maintain a fantastic recreation site.
If you have any questions, please drop me a note at [email protected]

Looking forward to seeing you on the trail.

Just a reminder about this Saturday's run to Sunrise Lake. A few of us went up last weekend and found that the site DESPERATELY needs help. I have meetings with the Chilliwack Forest District planned for next week to determine what kind of support they can provide us going forward.

Please join us on Saturday! If you have any questions, drop me a note at [email protected]

Nooooooo. Can we fix the tank? Thinking pull it/flush it/clean and braze it? Is it lined? I am so sorry to hear this.

I've posted some pictures at http://gallery.hot4x4.ca/album344

Just a reminder that this month's 4WDABC Sunrise Lake Maintenance run is this Saturday, November 12. We're meeting at the Sasquatch Inn at 9:30am, to be under way to the Weaver fish hatchery at 10:00 Sharp! I expect to proceed from the Fish Hatchery up to Sunrise Lake for lunch, then most likely head up to Lookout Lake before weather closes that trail down for the winter. Since it gets dark so early, I am planning on returning to the Sasquatch Inn by approximately 4pm.

[email protected] if you have any questions!!!!

Just a reminder that this month's 4WDABC Sunrise Lake Maintenance run
takes place this Saturday (December 10). We meet at the Sasquatch Inn
at 9:30am, leaving for the Weaver Creek fish hatchery at 10:00 SHARP!
This month, I am planning on heading up to Sunrise Lake, then down to
the Hale Creek beach -- expecting to return to the fish hatchery before
dark (which sure comes early these days!!!!).

Based on the weather of the last week, there IS going to be snow and
ice. I strongly recommend that all vehicles have front/rear tow points
for this run (or a good plan for removing the vehicle from a snow bank),
and that drivers choose to participate or tackle obstacles with the
trail conditions in mind!

If you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a note.

This Saturday is the January 4WDABC Sunrise Lake Maintenance Run. We will be meeting at the Sasquatch Inn at 09:30, departing for the Weaver Creek Fish Hatchery at 10:00 SHARP!. From there, we'll proceed to Sunrise Lake for lunch and then (depending on what the participants prefer) either head down to Hale Creek or continue up the West Harrison FSR and loop around to the Chehalis FSR, expecting to return to the Sasquatch Inn at approximately 4pm.

This is a GREAT opportunity to come out and enjoy some excellent stock-friendly wheeling! If you have any questions, please drop me a note.

See you on Saturday morning!
