For sale a 1999 landrover discovery 2
Alot of time and money has gone into this
The previous owner had the motor rebuilt ,balanced and sleeved ,had info and confirmed this with the shop

Once i got it i replaced the starter, waterpump, both belts, front n rear driveshafts, gaskets on the lower end of motor ,crankshaft pulley,

Also added on the roof rack

Couple things left to fix valve cover gaskets and minor things in interiour
Front light ,seat positioning bottons
Due to leaking sunroof i pulled out ceiling panel fixed leak
Than pulled of fabric and painted it black

Some cosmetic damage front bumper
Bought it this way n it never bothered me, was more concerned on getting all possible work done to power train

Not desprate to sell so no lowball offers 6000 is still a amazing deal
Couldnt add pics but i do have on vancouver craigslist

U can text me at 604-816-2403
Or email me at
[email protected]

I wanted to say thank u to the fellow landrover owners and admin on this site for all the help and info passed onto me
And do look forward to buying another in the future
Only selling because of needing a bigger truck for work and cant justify having this sitting once i get it

Any suggestions is my price to high, to me its not because of time and money spent on making it reliable to a point i know its ready to go anywere ,and what u get for 6000 compared to other cars suvs or trucks
But im certainly open to suggestions and opinions

Prices for Disco 2's seem to be all over the map, there have been quite a few recently sold on the island in the 3000-3500 range and quite a few that are advertised for a long-time at he 6-8K dollar range. Price I think is relative though to condition, maintenance and accessories. The Disco 2 range of trucks are starting to get old (newest ones are at the 15 year mark) so things are starting to fail. There are quite a few common problems with the V8, the electrical system and chassis/structural rust that can be expensive fixes. The thirsty V8 and near record-high gas prices don't help with resale values and there are quite a few of these trucks available on the market as people start finding them too expensive to maintain. That being said you can get a lot of bang for your buck with a disco 1 or 2... nice ride, lots of power, does well off road, lots of accessories available, lower price point than series or defender models. Because of the age and maintenance issues and market availability to fetch a higher price a disco 2 needs to be in good condition and have a solid maintenance record (including things such as head gaskets and heater core repairs). I can't comment about your disco as I haven't seen it but from my experience if a rover is priced right it should sell within a few weeks at close to asking price....if you aren't getting much interest then it might be time to re-evaluate. There are buyers for D2s and the trucks have a pretty loyal following; they are lovable and capable rovers, just a bit flawed... but what rover isn't?

Regards, Rob
