They can, and do, and Victor proved it. I'm sure he will provide some photos to back up this story. Today with his new radial tires he went to the new race track, got in line and won his class. BIG car show, huge crowds, great venue. A Land Rover wins first place over all the other British cars.
I'm proud of your accomplishments Victor. Well done. Proof that hard work and persistent pays off.
Really good show, raised about $170,000 for charity. Lots of sunshine, just ask my neck.
A Land Rover can go anywhere and do anything.

Hi Greg
Well thank you, it was a fine show. Very nice race track lots of high speed steeply banked curves. I probably had the slowest vehicle in the show but you would not have know it the way it charged down to the start-finish line for photos with the other winners after all the spectators and other participants had left
I must say that changing out the 30-35 year old nylon tube tires to modern radials has transformed the rover. I kind of hated to change them they suited the rover and were still in perfect condition, lots of thread left no checking and probably would have gone another 30 years, but the flat spots were kind of annoying after it sat over night. It steers beautifully (for a rover) the vibrations are gone and it is almost silent (again for a rover).
Sorry no photos I have no idea how to put them up on here.

Re: A Land Rover can go anywhere and do anything.
Victor, Margaret, Sue and I attended the Lighthouse country fair yesterday, just north of Qualicum Beach. We joined about 30 Old English Car Club attendees.
So with the Triumph, MG, Aston Martin and Jaguar beauties, we made the decision to park up at the end of the line with our Landies. The sports car owners seemed to appreciate this, not sure why!!?
During the day I observed more people eyeing Victor and Margaret's Dormobile than all the other cars.
We pull Victors leg about it either not running, or too dusty or scratchy for an outing, but the truth is, that the Dormy is a testament to Victor's attention and deserves to be coddled for future enthusiasts.
Eric.
