Replacement Tires for Disco Series II w/ 18" Whe
I have a 1999 Series II Disco with the ACE package. It has the Goodyear tires that came with it originally (I think), tires I'm not overly impressed with.
I need to get a new set before our weather turns too ugly.
My driving needs mostly consists of Lower Mainland city/highway routes.
I occasionally head up to Whistler, especially during the winter.
What would your suggestions be...

Hi
I run Toyo open country 255/65r16 on 97 disco. I have over 40,km on then. Yes their is wear, but have stood up the some real of road adventures. 14" to 22" rim sizes available.
The Proxes was not available at the time I was in the market.
This tire will be qiuet compaired to the Open Country, just from the look of the tread. The 235/70r16 XPC's were very noisy at 85,K when I changed them.
On TV there was an add about Toyo tire having walnut shells in the tread??
called Observe Studless. 14" to 17" rims only.

I ran Geolanders on an Isuzu Trooper and now run BFG AT's on my 110. I off road the 110 more then I did the Trooper. For all around with more off roading I prefer the BFG's but the I felt the Geolanders were better on highway and definately better in the snow.
Have you looked at National tire wharehouse in Delta? I got my Geolanders from them on sale for cheaper then anywhere else, though this was a few years ago.

I already gave my thoughts on the Geolanders, however that was the 1st year in the North American market & it seems that Yokohama have changed the tire tread pattern since then. Andy brings up a good option that you might give a second thought to & that is the BFG AT? Course i don't know if the AT's are avaliable as an 18".

Well I finally took the plunge and bought the tires. Thankfully I'm not finally rid of the horrid standard equipment Goodyears that would yell at me on each and every trip above 20km/h.
An imminent trip up the Coquihalla on Thursday ensured my purchase...

The Michelin 4X4 Synchrone ended up being the tire of choice.
