I hope this doesn't come off as a rant.. But wtf? Since when did companies give up on doing business?
I'm finally at had point of being ready to drop a decent amount of cash on my project and nobody will get back to me. .
I've been in periodic communication with designa chassis for like a year and a half and suddenly I can't get any reply on a request for a final quote and putting down a deposit.
It's been since early July with only one contact so I cast the net a little wider.. I heard from Defenders northwest on a forum post that they could offer something around August 1st or 2nd. So far no reply on phone calls or email.
Safarihp had a thread on a 110 rolling chassis for sale. Exchanged a few emails and decided I'd like to move on it if the shipping works out. No reply for about a week. Even called their shop. The guy I needed to talk to was in a meeting but the receptionist said it was still available
I understand things take a while but when did businesses give up on even making brief contact to let a person know their communication was received.?! Is this normal business with Rover parts companies?
So... Nobody wants money in the summer?

I think your post needs a response. Doing business now is different than what it was. The response times to inquires take longer and it seems that people don't care as much now. Quite sad actually. But it is the new business world. I guess we just need to adjust...

When the demand for parts far outweighs the supply, yes.RamblerRob wrote:I hope this doesn't come off as a rant.. But wtf? Since when did companies give up on doing business?

Re: So... Nobody wants money in the summer?
Apparently.. its getting pretty laughable at this point. Been tilting at this wheel since mid-july and still not really any closer to a concrete deal from when I started. At this point I'm starting to consider dumb things like lengthening a Disco 1 chassis to suit. I have to admit I'm pretty flabbergasted.
I did eventually hear back from DefendersNW who were apparently in the middle of taking down and re-launching their online store. I gave them info to build a quote on about a week ago so I'm holding out hope that I'll hear something back soon.
I've basically sent a 'final try' email to safariHP and designa. At this point I cant see the point in dumping more time and effort into them, which is unfortunate since Lain at designa was such a great help in planning my project. I really would have liked to give him my business.

Thanks for the tip. Its much appreciated!
I sent a text message to the mobile number. I'm going to be hard pressed to be available during business hours over the next week to make a phone call.
