Alternators on 2.5 NA Diesel, are they same as turbo diesel?

#1 Post by Logos24492 » Wed May 04, 2016 5:02 pm

Are the alternators on the 2.5 Non turbo diesel the same as the one on the 200tdi etc?

Also are both alternators installed by MOD on the 2.5 na the same part number?

I'm missing the auxiliary alternator and my default alternator just died...

Also... I'm supposed to hit the trails on Friday! ! Any help is greatly appreciated!

early range rover alternators are a bolt in upgrade. WAY MORE AMPS!

You can actually run lights, wipers, heater and radio at the same time!

Yes, the same from Series 3 2.25 through to 200TDI (Defender version). All came with either a 45 or 65 Amp version.

Land Rover part number STC234 for the 65 Amp one.

See here for some cross reference for the larger version via non-Rover North American suppliers: http://www.discountstarterandalternator ... 24209.aspx

Thanks guys for the quick replies! I'll see if I can pick one up from Martyn tomorrow, hopefully it does the trick.
