April Club Run- Indian Arm- Norton Lake- Sunday 17thApril
We are planning our April club run on Sunday 17th April 2016
What - One day off-road run into the mountains
When - Sunday 17th April 2016 meeting at 9.30am at Tim Hortons in Squamish (38930 Progress Way);
http://goo.gl/maps/bVGdO
Where - The run is from Squamish down to the top of Indian Arm. Possibly up to Norton Lake if time allows.
What Else - We haven't done this run since 2014 so not sure quite what to expect until we get there. Possible over-grown sections could cause some BC pin striping. We are not expecting any really gnarly sections but you never know ... that what adventure is all about right!
Cheers,
Andy

I'm going to miss this one I guess... Sons bday party and wrong part came in for my truck... The next weekend would have been perfect! (Waves fist at Sky)
I was up there last year and camped out by the lake for a few days.... Two decommissioned (removed) bridges easy enough to get around though one of them means some minor rock... At the point that you get to the point where you start actually climbing up to the lake the trees come right in, so definitely expect pinstripes if you go all the way to the lake. Really beautiful spot though.

Hi crew, FYI, I did this run 2 weeks ago. It is still very much full of snow....or at least it was 2 weeks back. It's been warm so who knows. I made it about 15-20 minutes up the arm before turning around. Take chains if you've got them and definitely take shovels.
Unfortunately I can't make it this weekend.

Hi Mike,
Thanks for the road condition update. When you say "10-15mins up the Arm" do you mean 10-15mins from the waters edge of the Indian Arm or where exactly is "10-15mins up the Arm"?
Hopefully the last 2-3 weeks of mild, rainy weather would of washed most of the snow away by now. I was up at 2500ft (near Squamish) last weekend and there was only a few small patches of snow left.
BTW - I thought you were keeping every 3rd weekend open for club runs? What's up with that? We can see who wears the pants in your house :wink:
Cheers,
Andy

Re: April Club Run- Indian Arm FSR- Sunday 17thApril
Post Trip Report;
8 vehicles, lots of sun and snow. Still several feet of snow on the road at the high point about midway between Squamish & Indian Arm. Not able to get through at this time, snow is too soft and too deep. Played around in the snow for a couple of hours before switching over to lunch and snow ball fights. Excellent day, thanks to all those that came out and joined in.
