unique and interesting

BC is full of strange and wonderful things. I'm looking for a theme on which to base an outing. For example, last year down here in Washington, I took a group out to the Wenatchee/Okanogan national forest and we traveled from one remote weather reporting station to the next. They were owned/operated by different organizations - some SNOTEL, some Forest Fire, some just straight meteorological. It was fun because you could see the different ways they measured snowfall, how they tracked wind speed etc. Most used low watt UHF for communication via meteor burst reflection to ground receivers many miles away, but the antennas were quite varied.

Anyway - what are some of the unique sights and sites available in BC? Railway bridges and mines seem interesting - what else comes to mind?

Thanks!

I was reading about that trip somewhere recently, sounded like an interesting weekend. Its always good to have some interest points to aim at rather than just wandering.

Some good ideas for BC would be off-road peaks over 6000ft? Maybe Forest Fire lookouts? Yes mines would be another. Maybe hand gliding launch sites...

Thanks Andy. People always like abandoned mines and ghost towns when you can find them. I have a friend who loves the plane crash sites - I find that a bit morbid.

One place I'd like to head one day is up near Kitimat - Mt. Hoult. I could then stand there until I get arrested saying "get off my mountain".
