New toy to keep me busy.
I just wanted to say thanks to Pamela and David for my new project, a 1988 Range Rover Classic. I have never owned one of these fancy V8's before and will be depending on you all for advice! Wish me luck and hopefully I'll get to see you all sometime this summer!

Re: New toy to keep me busy.
My new project Range Rover classic is making some progress. I rebuilt the front calipers and disks, bearings and swivel pins. Don put a new Power steeing box in it. New wheels and tires just fit.
New shocks are nice and supple :)
Starting to feel safe to drive!
Still need to sort out rear disks and calipers, poor functiong wipers front and rear, and the typical rusty sill panels. I'm still to afraid to really have a look under the carpets but it looked not bad from underneath.
I will need a rear lift gate eventually, rear wiper motor, possibly front as well but it works fine, it just doesn't park or go above medium speed.
Lastly I need to replace the leaking heater core and find out why the AC randomly comes on 1 time in a hundred... Weird Lucas electrics.
I'll bring it out soon I hope.

Re: New toy to keep me busy.
Hi Glenn,
I have a couple of these beasties - a 1988 (Reggie) and a 1990 (Denny). I have a ton of spares - including upper and lower tailgates a hood or two, engines, axles, diffs etc. Most of my stuff is functional but not perfect. Let me know what you need and I'll see if I can find a good example laying around.
My truck is rusty in the same places you fear on yours - and the Lucas stuff is funny. I'll be driving along and the crappy AC fan will start blasting then shut off. I took the lead off the back of the ecu to test for an EFI light and the speedometer, rear wiper and washer started working.....then they quit soon again there after. The difflock light decides when and if to show up :)
