1963 Land Rover 2a race rebuild

#1 Post by John Boy » Mon Nov 02, 2015 5:24 pm

Hello all;

My name is John and I ran into a few members in Lady Smith at the Tim Hortons a few weeks back and was invited to join this group. I was driving my 97 Range Rover pulling my new find, a 1963 Land Rover 2a. The Land Rover is now safely tucked away in my back yard waiting its turn to be tinkered with. I had mentioned to those at the tim hortons that I was planning to rebuild the rover for the "race to Myanmar" for 2018.

Just wanted to introduce myself and as this is my first rover rebuild, will have questions.

Cheers.

Welcome. You certainly have enough Rovers to join.

That's a nice selection too - air sprung and leaf sprung. Just missed out those coils completely! :mrgreen:

There's quite a knowledgeable bunch on the Island when it comes to rebuilding. Good luck with the project.

Welcome John,

Looking forward to seeing some photos of your new project. Maybe start a thread in the Projects section when you get going.
Are you based in Lady Smith?

Cheers,
Andy

Hi franko, hi Crs, my range rover is on springs, air bags have been removed... Hi Andy, I live in view royal. I will start a project page soon, have to finish a bmw e3, then a 450sl for the wife and then fix my mistakes on the scirocco from a few months back. Then the land rover gets its turn in the garage. Maybe five months from now.

http://www.endurorally.com/pages/road-to-mandalay is the web page for the rally the rover will have to be built for.

cheers
