Spanish land rover defender question
Hi all,
Totally new to this, and I'm sure it's been asked a thousand times, but here goes; I'm looking at buying a defender overseas, probably spain. I have a handle on what is required here, 15 years, etc.... But is there a recommended broker/dealer who can find the best vehicle within a given budget, and get it to the docks etc...? I tried looking online with no luck, so any help here is greatly appreciated.
Evan

Hi Evan,
Here is a previous link, in my opinion Skeena River caps it off nicely with his last post ...

But if you still determined to try it, maybe try contacting Jullian at Global Land Rovers he has a lot of import experience and can most likely help you out,

cheers, Andy

Re: Spanish land rover defender question
I've actually imported several from SW France and 1 originally from Spain. I have family over there to do the leg work. I've looked online for what you describe as a broker without much luck. It is a different world over there for buying / selling used cars. Be very careful buying sight unseen as there are quite a few scam adverts, especially on ebay. Shipping cars around withing Europe is expensive as well.
I've brought mine in via container to the Port of Vancouver, but Roll on Roll off to Tacoma is an option. I'm just afraid of US customs. Shipping is easy, but the Port of Vancouver can be difficult to deal with and incredibly expensive. You can't go there and meet / unload the container yourself, everything happens at arms length with fees for every transaction / move. Lord help you if things drag on while clearing as it can cost you upwards of $500 a day to store a container at the port. The port fees for my last shipment were almost as much as the cost of shipping the container from France. :-(
I may try Tacoma myself next time.
Cheers,
Paul in Victoria.

Thanks guys. If i do Tacoma, wouldn't I then be limited to 25 years and older, or is that only if importing to and keeping it in the states. Was really hoping to find a broker over in spain. Thanks again.

Not a problem in Tacoma. If you tell them its being taken straight to Canada they don't care how old it is.Canuck75 wrote:Thanks guys.
