Voltage Stabalizer?
This is in the engine bay of my 88. Is this the voltage stabalizer that should be behind the dash?

No, that is a switch but I forget what it is for, choke light maybe?

That's the cold start/choke light switch....the voltage stabilizer is similar in size, no screw on top for a cable, I think it's silver colour.

My series 3 88" has this (choke warning light activation switch) in the same location.

Re: Voltage Stabalizer?
The voltage stabilizer on a Series III is behind the dash and is only used for the fuel guage.

Are there supposed to be two, three, or four wires plugged into the voltage stabilizer? Mine has three, but the manual looks to show two (one of each kind).

Voltage Stabalizer?
Hi, the parts catalogue and various wiring diagrams shows two male and two female type connectors, to the stabilizer with the male ones marked 'B' for battery and other 'T'. I believe the wiring would depend upon any previous owner fix, but would think there are three wires normally; one for power in and the two out that go to the fuel gauge and temp. gauges. They are provided with 10 volts stabilised.
