I hope to make it. Probably just as a visitor, but I'll think about it.
It's always a lot of fun. The location is fantastic and the variety, if not the numbers, beat the Portland meet.

The Grizzly Torque is scheduled to be there so I hope that we can get as many Land Rovers out as possible. It is a great opportunity to showcase the vehicles we love and support.

So please chime in and be committed.....

Two things:

1. Is this for perfect specimens or can ugly modded trucks join?

2. My place is about four blocks away... We could do a club bbq at my place if the grand poobahs wish it... I have a ng weber and a patio that could be used.... Also a yard etc....

Doh... Just read the site info.... It's on sat and I have a wedding to go to... Thought it was the whole weekend and we could do the Sunday bbq...

Still available if we want to get together Sunday....

Good point: do vehicles for the ABFM need to be pretty?

The Land Rover contingent is frequently also known as "Tent City" and the more authentic and used the better so bring your coleman stove, brew up some tea and relax in you favorite chair.

Using Amoral or similar products on your tires is a definite no-no. I usually wash my truck and still get criticised for that. It is to showcase the Land Rover lifestyle and that means dents and scratches are considered well deserved scars of a job well done. It is "peoples choice" voting for prizes so it's anybody's guess who will leave with some jewelry.

So bring your tow ropes, roof tents, hammock's and coolers but most of all have a good story ready about that fender with the beauty mark.

See you there!!!

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the offer of the BBQ. The Sunday after the ABFM they have the "All British Run up to Whistler" which usually is very popular or people head off on other camping trips as its a long weekend. So probably better to do it another time, maybe one of the Monthly Social Gatherings?
Enjoy the wedding, are they using the D90 as the wedding vehicle?

For all those planning to head up to the ABFM, yes no need to polish and shine, with the 1000 or so other shiny cars at the show I think people like to see some Matt paint and scratches!
Make sure you bring a folding chair and some snacks.... Lots of photos in the galley for those wanting to see past events ....

Cheers,
Andy

Are you dissing Matt? I thought the paint on his restored Series LR was really nice. It didn't look MATTE at all!

I am headed over there tomorrow with the family. We will be coming in the maroon Disco with Baja rack, but will not be participating in the show. Most likely be there around the 10 to 12 noon time frame. I hope to see everyone there!

Is anyone coming over from the Island, who could maybe carry a set of axle half-shafts for me?

I've not noted Land Rover roofs being particularly efficient at keeping the occupants dry at the best of times.

Nice collection of vehicles there. :D

Arc - saw the DiscoII is the car park. Very nice and a good colour.

Grizzly Torque - nice, but I'd like to see it with the painting done. :mi5:

Saw Eric, Don and Chrisma. Don had a nice, open-air 90 I'd not seen before there along with the 110. :hello2:

Weather was good.

Very few Rover cars apart from some nice P6s.

Apparently some of our Land Rovers pictures from the ABFM made it to a New Zealand Blog...

Yes, it was good to see lots of familiar faces at the ABFM. Hundreds of amazing British vehicles on display. The best looking of all was the group of Land Rovers on top of the hill! 8)
Kudo's to both Stuart L and Dave F who did a fantastic job of getting their Land Rover reno's finished and ready for the show.

Thanks again to Don & the team for putting on the Land Rover "Spirit" award, which is Sponsored by Rovalution and is in addition to the ABFM show awards.

Cheers,
Andy
