2000 Defender 110 TD5
For those who are interested, here's is the story (in pictures) of the transformation of our 2000 Defender 110. The team at Hesp did a great job. In fact they are at it again with a few more cosmetic changes (including new wheels and tires) and engine tuning. http://pinterest.com/cdejager/our-land- ... r-110-td5/

It definitely needed new wheels to finish it off!

Hi Cees,
Good to meet you and the family at Founders Day and see the 110 finished off and ready for action!
Congrats on the "Best of Show" award, I hope you get to enjoy the LR in the Big Outdoors over the next few years ...
Cheers,
Andy

Cheers Andy. The boys had a terrific time and are looking forward to the Van Dusen event. The finishing touches should be done by then (fingers crossed). Are the Rover-Landers planning an organized group presence at ABFM or does it tend to be a few individuals?

Re: 2000 Defender 110 TD5
We did a big push for a group event at the ABFM for LR 60th birthday we wanted at least 60 Land Rovers and I think we ended up with 62 so it was a big success, we took up a huge section of the show.
Most years its just a individual attendance, normally about 12 trucks. Its on a long weekend so we normally have a camping trip planned on the same weekend.

Re: 2000 Defender 110 TD5
Thanks for the positive feedback. We've decided to go with black sawtooth style rims from Britpart (http://www.britpart.com/parts/wheels/wh ... /lr025862/). We've decided to add 30mm wheel spacers as well. Alastair is going to find a suitable mud/all terrain tires (if anyone is interested in the current rims and tires - which are new, let me know). Will post pics when done.
The wheels and tires will be a nice addition but we're really excited about the engine tuning. Allegedly it will take it up to 210bhp and double the torque.

Just received update on our Defender "tweaks"... spacers, new wheels and tires installed. Much better - the spacers really enhance the stance.

Hi There!
Just purchased a Defender a couple days ago and was interested to know about your paint job!
Cost/effort, thoughts on the result? Tips?
Many thanks!

Have sent you an email with the financial details but three quick points:
- you get what you pay for (don't be cheap on this part of your resto)
- there will be surprises so budget for it
- manage the project closely or have someone do it for you (Alastair at Hesp did it for us as part of the bigger project.
Any more questions, just let me know
