Showing of the Original "The Rover Boys" Foster/Bateman Tour

#1 Post by StuartL » Wed Jan 28, 2015 8:03 am

We are doing a club showing of the original film made of the 1957/58 World Tour of Bristol Foster and Robert Bateman on Saturday February 7 at the Spruce Harbour Marina in Vancouver next to Granville Island. Here is the link to the map http://www.spruceharbour.com/Public/our-location.html

We are limited to the amount of people the facility can handle so please sign up here or send me a PM.

Please bring any refreshments or snacks with you as their won't be anything available at the venue. Maybe even a few extra to share

15 people signed up at Founders Day so we have room for about 25 more.

Here is a link to the latest article http://www.timescolonist.com/restoratio ... -1.1734726

Come and find out how many Pygmies will fit in the back of a Land Rover

Start time, Stuart?

Parking looks 'interesting.' Anyone interested in carpooling from the south or east? (Even just carpooling from an easier parking location.)

Hey all, I'm your host for the evening and yes, parking is a challenge around the marina. There are actually two pay lots within a four or five minute walk, and honestly probably your best bet. The one I neglected to put on the map is at the junction of Ironwork Passage and Lamey's Mill Rd.
Carpooling is a wise idea, or bring your phone and navigate in from a few blocks away if you are set on free street parking.

Hope to see you all there. Well not ALL of you...

Not going to make it today unfortunately, so that makes space for 2 more people if it's fully subscribed (as we were on 'the list').

I just wanted to thank David and Nancy who hosted the movie premier last night.

The marina was a wonderful venue and parking wasn't a problem. Next to Land Rovers, being on the water with a fabulous view of Vancouver is one of my favorite things.

Thanks again to you both.....
