Founders Day - Saturday 24th January 2015 at 11am
Coming up fast is our Annual Rover-Landers Founders Day, its time to dust off / start up / tune up your Land Rovers and get them down to Cloverdale for this awesome Indoor Land Rover Show, the biggest Land Rover event is Western Canada with an average of 70 Land Rovers in attendance, from all over BC, Alberta & Washington. Bring along your Land Rovers complete or even trailer in your half complete project for all to see, all Land Rovers are welcome, old, new, shiny, battered ..... hope to see you all there!
What - Founders Day, an Indoor Land Rover Show
Where - Agriplex Arena, 176th Street and 62nd Avenue, Cloverdale, BC.
When - Saturday 24th January 2015, doors open at 11am, close at 7pm.
Who - Everyone & Anyone with a Land Rover is invited to drive right into the Arena, park up and mingle.
What Else - Entry is $10 per Land Rover when driving into the arena, walk-ins are free (all entry proceeds go towards helping pay for the arena rental, so even if you are attending for only an hour or two, please drive your Land Rover inside rather than leaving it in the car park and walking in for free) :D
This years theme is "Military Land Rovers" so if you have a military Land Rover and want to be part of the display please let us know.
We have lots of "Best of" awards which go out to the Land Rovers that get the most Peoples choice votes in multiple categories.
There will be a BIG Raffle table full of Land Rover goodies, Rover-Landers T-shirts, Hoodies, Hats & other merchandise. We will have Land Rover movies & slide shows, Articulation ramp, Technical displays, Kids Play Table, Vendors Tables, Food outlet (new) onsite and much, much more .....

Absolutely, just throw a camo net over the top and add a few bullet holes in the side .... do you happen top have any Paramilitary props to go with it?
Maybe a good Technical display this year would be Ray fitting his Mattracks onto his Paramilitary Defender on the day???

Hey Andy,
Just thought I'd remind everyone that peoples choice votes are collected from opening time to when the awards are handed out which means of course if you display early and don't leave you will get more votes than someone who arrives late to the party!!!!! Just sayin'

My eventual plan is to have a series 1 on the tracks, being towed by the Defender. But I don't think I will have that ready by Founders Day.ANDYD wrote: Maybe a good Technical display this year would be Ray fitting his Mattracks onto his Paramilitary Defender on the day???

Hi Eric,
Yes, generally if you have any Land Rover stuff bring it along and just leave it in front of your truck with a for sale sign on it,
cheers,
Andy

I will be bringing my Nanocom unit for Disco 2 V8s if anyone would like to do some diagnostics on their Discos (e.g., SLABS, 3 amigos). You can also use it to re-program the BCU functions (e.g., foglamps, new key, windshield heater, etc).
I will also be going to the Snow Flake run.
My Disco is a 2003 Alveston Red with a custom winch bumper also painted in the same red.

That's great Andrew, can it also turn off the air compressor for D2's with air shocks? I replaced mine with coils but the air still tries to level it out every now and again.

I do not have ACE or an airbag system on my Disco, however, the Nanocom has a programming features for it. We did it on huebnerd's Disco. We can check it out on your truck on Sat.justin_carlson wrote:That's great Andrew, can it also turn off the air compressor for D2's with air shocks? I sent a PM with more specific details so as not to keep the subject matter off track in this thread.

I regret that I will not be able to make it to Founder's Day. Work calls.
Somebody (Bill? Ted?) had asked some time ago if I would be there with my 90. As of a few short hours ago, the answer is now NO.
Have a good time everybody.

Miss the boat show? Not on your life! LOL
I'll be there tomorrow 'til I have to leave to catch the last ferry home. I'm pretty sure you'll save me some cake and you'll buy me some raffle tickets.

Thanks to all that put the hard work into the Founders Day event! What a great time! It was amazing to see the Agriplex "outgrown" with Rovers. I absolutely loved the Military vehicle exhibit.

Great to see so many Landies old and new.
Many thanks to the organizing 'Team' for their hard work in putting on the event.
Maybe it needs a larger venue for next year - I noticed there has been a suggestion for an outdoor summer event instead. Has anyone though about somewhere like Thunderbird Showpark out at 248 St/72 Ave?

Kudos to the organizers of this year's Founder's Day. It was our first Rover Landers event and we thoroughly enjoyed it and felt very welcome. Thanks to all those who made it happen.

It was my first Founders Day, great event!
An outdoor summer show would be awesome.
It would make it easier travelling for those of us from the interior and would probably be a bit more family friendly as well

Hi All,
Phew! Another Founders Day has come and gone and I believe a great day was had by all! A first look at the numbers, we had record attendance and just awesome support with the raffle and merchandise sales... This money all goes towards covering the costs of holding this unique event and keeping our Land Rover club strong and active.
A huge thank you to all those that made the effort to come out, join in & support the clubs biggest event of the year. Not forgetting all of our sponsors and raffle prize donators. There is no other Indoor Land Rover Show of this type and size in Western Canada, it is only able to take place due to the enthusiam of all those involved,
I'm sure all your cameras and phones are bulging under the weight of photos of the Event, so please share and send them into Bill (check out the club contacts tab if you dont know his email). Bill will gladly post them up into our Gallery.
Looking forward to a busy year of events in 2015....
Cheers,
Andy
