webber loose gas line conection

#1 Post by island dormy » Sat Jun 15, 2013 6:46 pm

Hello

Just a word of warning about a possible fire hazard.

I know lots of folks on here are running Webbers on there old Rovers. This is not a Webber bash I like my Webber it preforms very nicely, but today I had the brass fuel inlet connection to the carb pull out of the carb. Luckily the engine was not yet hot. The rover started running really poorly and I smelled gas and stopped, the fuel line was completely disengaged from the carb. This brass inlet is a press in connection. So it might be a good idea to check yours. Remove the fuel line and make sure it is tapped in solidly.

This also seems to have happened to some Volkswagen guys who run this carb on there old beetles. ( I guess it could happen with any brand of carb)

Talk with you later Victor 1962 Dormobile

Yikes! Thanks Victor I'll check mine.
I smelt gas on my way down from Duncan on the weekend, turns out when I topped up the tank my fuel sender gasket was leaking and gas was pouring out of the top of my tank! Always some thing exciting going on in a series truck!
