Series One windscreen
Any tips on getting the windscreen glass replaced for an 86 Series One?

Re: Series One windscreen
I am going to need the same answer at some point.
I was thinking of just going to the glass place in town and getting them to cut a sheet of glass the right size and thickness, and then putting 3M clear film on both sides for safety.

I like the "for safety".
I'd like to get actual laminated glass at a minimum, and heated would be better.

Yeah, that's the right way to do it for sure, if you can find it let me know where.
My series ones both have plain glass in the existing windscreens, no laminate, no temper, no film, no nothin.

Give a commercial (truck) glass shop a try, the one here in Revy will cut & engrave with the correct CMVSS logo laminated glass for me, for work.

Hi Guys
I am going to try this again my last post just vanished.
All you have to do is remove your old windscreen and take it with you as a pattern to any glass shop. They will cut you a new one using the correct windscreen glass (which they will have in stock). I did this a couple of years ago it cost me $25.00 for each side and they gave me the new thin rubber strip that goes against the inside of the glass under the thin aluminun strips that hold the glass. On the outside I used Dum Dum strips avaliable at lordco.

You can get proper, legal... laminated windshield glass cut at any automotive glass shop.

Try Garibaldi Glass or OnSet Glass.
Garilbaldi can make anything, and Dale at Onset was a guy that I used to call up when I needed windshield work done on film vehicles. Both companies are in Burnaby.
