I appreciate them being proactive! I got an Email from one of the bosses at a local metal recycler. Seems they were cleaning up a yard and picked up a Series 1 SW, 88". They thought it was too collectible to crush so I got the message that it was there. I went and had a look and am now waiting for a call to pick it up. They have to do some due diligence work to make sure they can sell it legitimately. When they loaded it up at the peoples yard, they carefully loaded it into a bin and secured it to truck it back to the crushing yard. Truck looks good with straight body panels and almost everything there. Hasn't been licensed since early 80's but the engine isn't seized. Couldn't crawl underneath to check on chassis condition but it looks okay.
Yup! There are still barn find's.

Good on you to rescue it. Good on them to give you the chance. :D

Re: Series 1 at a scrap dealer.
After a good long wait, I finally got the word that someone close to the company expressed an interest so they gave it to them. I passed on contact information to encourage the new owner to ask for help, but have heard nothing since.
