Are you sure that you got the axle housing positioned correctly on the springs?

It sounds just like a broken center-bolt in your spring pack but since you just changed the springs, I bet you didn't get the center-bolt in the proper hole in the spring bracket on the axle when you did up the U bolts. Your most likely place for error is in one of the front springs as the bracket has the center hole for the head of the bolt as well as being surounded by four cavities that the bolt head can slip into if not done right. (How do I know this you ask? It was a previous owner that did it. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!) It seems to me that it is more difficult to have it slip out of the proper hole on the rear springs.
