Rover All Over 2005 - POSTPONED UNTIL APRIL 3RD

#1 Post by DaveB » Sun Mar 06, 2005 7:30 am

9:00 depart Rickys Restaurant, Surrey.

A road rally/scavenger hunt throughout the lower mainland. We won't tell you too much about it until you get there. Meeting place to be announced. Be prepared to drive about 100 KM and have a passenger with you to help answer the riddles along the way.

Those that participated last year had alot of fun and didn't even get their trucks dirty. There may be a bit of gravel here or there but no actual off-roading.

This is followed by a barbeque at my (Dave's) place in Abbotsford, so if you get desperately lost, give up and head out to the house. Address is 4299 Glenmore Road. The RoverLanders will supply the food, but bring your own beverages and lawn chairs.

We have a covered deck, so the BBQ is on rain or shine. Andrew Phillips is planning the rally and wouldn't mind a volunteer or two.

For the amount of planning this event takes, we need to see better attendance if we are to continue it. A number of folks indicated interest in non-off-road events and this is definitely YOUR EVENT!

Please indicate by posting whether you intend to participate.

thanks, Dave

Rover All Over — POSTPONED UNTIL APRIL 3RD

#2 Post by DaveB » Thu Mar 10, 2005 11:13 pm

Due to a very busy schedule for Andrew and myself, and an underwhelming interest, based on the feedback so far, we've decided to postpone the Rover All Over Rally until April 3rd.

If we don't get any more interest, I may postpone it for good. :( :(

Dave,

Sorry I did not reply to the first post but I guess I did not read it closely enough to realize that you were doing a head count.

Unforeseen circumstances aside I plan on attending the event.

I don't think anyone would fret if they were driving something other than a Land Rover. At least we know there are a couple in the garage...

Dave

BTW, Andrew's not revealing much about the route as I'm going to participate as well, but at least I'll know how to get home

YES the rally is still on sunday rain hail and especialy shine so brush up on a little trivia an start to read into things like if the clue said (Round about here turn left ) What would you be looking for as a marker to turn left?
So clean those windscreens (you dont want to miss a clue) and come along on sunday at Rickies on 152 and fraser Hwy and we will start things of at 9:00.
