My wife and I just drove to San Jose and back again in our 87 Range Rover. The only problem was a loose wire on the alternator that took 2 minutes to fix. It took 2 days to get down and 2 days to get back. We did an average of 65 mph on the freeway and burned 16.8 mpg (Imp) with Trac-edge tires. The distance covered was 2500 miles (approx. 3945k’s) I was really pleased with the truck and it is such a pleasure to drive over long distances, now if I just had one of those 2.8L TD I would be happy! I posted this as all you ever hear is this or that is broken, thought a good news story was called for. Cheers
Gas costs were 1.71 to 2.25 US$ per US gal (4L) and it coast $157.00 US$ each way in gas.
