Local Run - Saturday March 24th

#5 Post by ANDYD » Thu Mar 22, 2012 1:23 am

Good to have you all along....
Due to all the snow at higher levels we have decided to take advantage of the low water levels at the lower levels, this Saturday we plan to explore around Davis Lake and along the beach at East Stave. We will have a small campfire and BBQ for lunch on the beach in the sunshine :toothy4:
Bring along smokies, buns, chips etc... for lunch. Dont forget your folding chairs.
A nice late departure time of 10am (for Bill!) from Tim Horton's in Mission.

We plan to be back in Mission by 4pm (ish).
Post up if you are coming along so we can look out for you.....
Cheers, Andy

Club Run...

#6 Post by StuartL » Thu Mar 22, 2012 1:18 pm

I'm in...... the flight I have to meet doesn't come into 11:57 PM so I think I can squeeze it in as long as nobody gets really stuck with something like perhaps a Unimog.

Thanks Bill for the reasonable hour......

Well my diff lock problem turned out to be a missing circlip :? Andy came up with the idea of using a electrical connector that we cut in half and wedged in place which solve the problem :D When I removed the tranny tunnel we noticed that the shaft was fouling on the side of the tranny prevent full engagement.

.5cent part...go figure :? :? :?

East Stave lake sun run March 2012

#17 Post by ANDYD » Sun Mar 25, 2012 10:36 pm

Good to hear you made it home ok Dave, a nice cheap repair (5c) this time!!

It was a beautiful sunny run to East Stave Lake, great turn out of eleven Land Rovers. Turned into quite an adventure with all kinds of challenges including twisty wooded sections, flooded roads, huge logs, quick-sand and mud. We enjoyed lunch on the sandy shore of Stave Lake and the sun shone down all day as promised. 8)
