Rear sliding glass in 109 3-door?
I'm wondering about replacing the fixed side glass in my 109 3-door with sliding glass to improve ventilation. Anyone done it? Thoughts? all 4 or just rear two? Besides square corners versus round corners is there a size difference between the series versus defender rear glass? Technical problems I'm overlooking?
Thanks!
Steve
Thanks!

Hi Steve
I replaced the side rear solid glass on my 5 door 110 with sliding glass and track hardware from a 109 without any issues.
As I remember it was an easy swap. I don't think the square or rounded corners matters. The glass slides on tracks that are attached to the outer shell inside the truck, but you may need to drill some water drain holes through the aluminum if they are not already there.
The extra air flow made a big difference on those hot summer days.

At least two members in the club (Bill E. and Shawn D.) have done this with locally sourced windows. See if you can contact them or get a look at their Rovers. I forget the window source a the moment but it may be from these guys http://www.sunviewindustries.ca/index.htm

Hi Steve,
I sourced my windows from an RV place in the valley. They were made in Summerland but I've since heard that the company no longer exists/makes them. There are probably other manufacturer's who make similar windows like the one John linked to, also in Summerland. I have been very happy with mine, especially the integrated sliding bug screen. They are also extremely waterproof, they don't leak under a direct stream from a hose. I'd check with some of the local RV parts suppliers. Rick Mellenger used to work in the business, maybe he's got some friends he can direct you towards.

Awesome, as always, thanks for the info Bill :D
For your install did you cut the hole to fit the window, or get the window to fit the hole? Also, it looks like your are nice and tall, but I feel like on my 109 top there's a horizontal rib an inch or so below my stock window which limits the width to 12" or so ... no such rib on the 90 top?
