Amateur Radio Courses

#1 Post by sailourboy » Mon Sep 20, 2010 11:31 pm

In order to legally operate a 2 way radio in the Amateur Radio Bands you must be licensed. This will involve some of your time and a little effort . The exam questions can be downloaded at any time and you will be encouraged by the Amateur group who is putting on the course to review this list of multiple choice questions frequently.
Currently these are the locations who are offering courses in the GVRD:

The North Shore Amateur Radio Club will be offering the Basic Licensing Course, starting Saturday, January 15 and finishing Saturday, February 26, 2011

The Delta Amateur Radio Society’s basic amateur radio course Oct. 14,15, 16, 21, 22, & 23, 2010

Surrey BASIC HAM LICENSING CLASSES START ON THURSDAY, SEPT. 30TH

The costs of these courses are minimal as the instructors volunteer their time. Copy and paste the links into your browser and sign up. You usually do NOT have to be a member to sign up. Do a Google search for an Amateur Radio Club in your area if outside Vancouver to see when a course will be offered. there is no dots and dashes (morse code)involved in the basic course anymore.

Should you have any questions please drop me an email.
