I can’t answer all of your questions, however Traction Controll became standard equipment on Disco’s in 1999 with the Disco 2’s, this is also the start of HDC (hill decent control) equipped Disco’s.
Traction control was also on RR (P38’s) starting on the rear axle only (don’t know what years) & at some point TC for both axles.

I certainly was happy with the Traction Control the past couple of days. Pamela and I were in Parksville for the day Saturday and left around 5:00 PM in steady snow. The roads weren't great, but the truck did well.

A question, though, which effects traction... Why does it say in the door jamb that front tire pressure should be 28 psi, and rear should be 46 psi? This, at least to my thinking, isn't very logical. Is there a good reason for it?

After driving down from Parksville to Nanaimo to the ferry, I reduced rear pressure to 28 as the rear end wasn't holding the road very well at 46 psi. It was much better mannered from North Van to Abbotsford, even though the roads last night were awful.

I was out again today with front at 24 and rear at 26 and the traction was even better. Not that I'd want to run that low all the time, but it certainly added to the capability of the 4wd and traction control the truck is equipped with.

But the 28/46 tire pressure still has me wondering...
