I always use a 40' and fill it with another vehicle, engines, and bulky items.
I have a carawagon that may be ready to ship if you want to split a 40'.

Hi again,
I used Autofreight in Nutwood, Surrey, David on 01483 222256 was extremely helpful. Call me on 604 837 5943 for the full story, but I learnt from the whole experience, and would next time make sure to:
1. Take photos of all sides and wheels at the shipping warehouse
2. Do a walk 'round to identify condition, with the warehouse manager
3. Ensure it is spotlessly clean, have it professionally power washed (I did this and it still got pulled by customs, and cost an extra $1500 to steam clean!)
4. Ask for a copy of the insurance document before it sails.
5.Get antifreeze checked, it's cold in Montreal
6. Don't pack anything inside, it adds to Customs likelihood of inspection, at cost.
7. Make sure it doesn't arrive on a public holiday, drayage charges will be more
I shipped from Ipswich by container truck to Liverpool, then sea to Montreal, then rail to Vancouver. Cost me 2300 Uk Pounds (too much but I needed the convenience of Liverpool). Couldn't do a roll on roll off to Halifax as the safari rack made it too high. And no-one here could help with RoRo through Tacoma.

Hi,
When I brought my 90 over I scrubbed it underneath for a day to get it clean. When we loaded the container we sprayed it's wheels down with disifectant then wet the container floor down also. After the 6 week trip it still had a 'hospital' smell to the container when we opened the doors. We had no problems with customs or Agri-Canada who do the soil inspection.
Stuart, If your bringing a container over I have a few large'ish parts that could do with a ride, drop us a pm. :wink:
