OVLR gone?

#1 Post by Greg S » Tue Mar 17, 2009 9:50 pm

It's been a week now that I've noticed I can't get onto the Ottawa Valley Land Rover Website, nor the Fourfold or Land Rover FAQ sites, all from OVLR.
Anybody know what's going on?

They don't seem to have a very active internet presence - I imagine it will take them at least this long to realize that their site is down.

Saw this message last week. May explain things a bit.

Hi all,

It appears that the ISP that gave the ADSL service for fourfold.org (Bell Canada) decided yesterday after 12 years to pull the plug on any remaining customers of that service in Ottawa. No warning was given and calls to their tech support (in India) claimed that the onlysolution was to upgrade to satellite service.

Dixon has found a new ISP and is working on the logistics of switching to the new DSL provider, but it may take days to a few weeks. Meanwhile the Mendo list and websites for the LR FAQ, OVLR, Fort Pitt LRG, and RoverWeb are down until this can get resolved. Please pass this around if people start asking you about the deafening silence.

Ben
