Has anyone experience using the rubberised tank sealer to plug up leaking fuel tanks? If so how was it and where did you get it from and what did it cost?

A while back I had a local radiator shop acid wash and line the inside of my 280z fuel tank (notoroious for rusting and over $1000 to replace). From my experience, I wouldn't recommend it... the stuff flaked-off and really clogged-up the fuel injection system... the acid wash just didn't strip the rust very well and then the lining coat couldn't stick properly. What worked for me is the tank went over to Dr. Leaker in Langley. They cut it open... cleaned-out the interior properly and then welded it back together. Did a great job and solved a nasty problem. If I had to do it again with a fuel tank, that would be my choice for the repair... was about a $250 job... way cheaper than a new tank... after 3 years it is working fine!
