power steering fittings.

#1 Post by Glenn D. » Tue Feb 03, 2009 2:33 pm

Does anyone know what type of Power-steering fittings are on the 200 tdi Disco motor?. I am trying to re-route my PS hose but the right angle male high pressure fitting on the pump is Pain In the A**

Greenline hose had no idea what type it was. (And they are always a big help!! very friendly.)

Its not a banjo type bolt on the pump.

This is the pump

Anyone know where i can get new fittings? male or female?

Birtrest apparenty has changed the fittings before ...

Unless I read wrong, the stock hose should work??

The power steering pipes fit perfectly! No mods required.

The hoses from the 2.5na don't really line up well with the end of the 200tdi fitting.
Ideally need a straight run instead of a 90' bend on the male fitting.
I have been using a 2 foot long loop of high pressure hose up until now, but I would like to tidy up the mess of hoses in my engine bay.

I meant the stock hoses from the Discovery.

New hoses...

When I installed my Mile Marker Hydraulic winch into my power stearing system (Don't do this on a Land Rover, the winch struggels to work poorly) I was able to take my stock power stearing lines to an industrial hydraulic hose place and they were able to just cut off the old rubber portion of the hoses and make me new hoses useing the old fittings.

I am not sure if this is an option for you, but it did work well for me.
