Series IIa Manual downloads?

#1 Post by Bill E. » Thu May 27, 2004 6:16 pm

Just wondering if anyone out there has come across a good website with Series 2a shop manuals for free download? Seems like I can find everything except the one for the 2a.

I've got a set of printed ones if you want to borrow them.

Hi Bill. You seem to be right, I think I have every download possible and I haven't found a IIa one yet. I have the Series III one on Adobe if you're interested.

Another option is that if Dave would be willing to lend me his, I have a scannner and could make it available electronically.

Would you be able to scan it without breaking or removing the binding?

Pretty thick manuals -- seems it would be a huge effort unless you have some sort of tray loading scanner...

Thanks Guys for your responses. Rick, I have access to a Haynes already but thanks anyway. Dave and Mike, I have the ability to scan Dave's book, it would be slow but I am willing to go to the effort. Dave, I wouldn't have to wreck your book but there may be some stress placed on the binding  I'll be gentle(baby) To compensate for this I am willing to provide you with a photocopied version so you have one for shop use afterwards. How about a parts manual to go along with the shop manual? I'll try and get to the meeting at Ricky's Thursday. If you are into lending your manuals could you bring them to the meeting :)

I have both green manuals, but not the parts catalog. I'll bring them to the meeting on June 17th.

IIA Parts book

#10 Post by roverdevin » Wed Oct 27, 2004 8:58 am

I have a II/IIA Parts Manual that you may borrow if you like. It was printed in 1961, so I'm not sure if late IIA stuff would be there, and its a bit rough (it matches the Rhino-hide on most land rovers I have seen...a bit musty smelling and water stained) but its not ripped and definately scannable. best of all its all in loose leaf, not bound.

Let me know.

Devin.

That sounds perfect Devin, how can I get hold of it for a while? You're in Squamish right? Do you get into Vancouver much or should I plan on trippin' up to see you?

Bill,

I'll be in Vancouver this weekend, and I am usually in town at least once a week. My cell phone # is 604 815 3230, and If you give me a contact # I'll try to get in touch with you. Friday night might be tight, as I have a party to get to, but I may be able to meet up Saturday sometime, or a later date when I'm in town...whatever works.
