HAM's CB'ers and electro heads all,

Where and how have some of you attached long whips and loaded coil antennas to your series or defenders? RR's D's and others may reply too. :)

I have a base loaded stainless whip mounted on the right front fender.

I mounted it about halfway down, which work out well because it almost hits the cab when it get whipped around in the brush.

I also had it tuned when it was installed.

Cheers

Off the back using a side mount. It is the only really safe location off road, IME, that gets the whip up above the roof.

9' SS whip for the CB was on a 3" angle iron braket at the lower rear corner or the rear cross member. I liked it there but the roof of the truck (ground plane) hits it about half way up, that likely reduces the output somewhat. Technically, the centre of the roof is best. How many low branches do you go under?
