Hey Lonn,

Notice you're not a Pump Boy anymore?

I think you might want to schedule it for sooner as the snow can get pretty deep up there. Although, trying it at this end of the season you're much more likely to have success than waiting till spring...

Lonn,

I'm afraid we don't have a weather site with cool maps like NOAA has. Or at least I haven't found them. Note, though, that the northwest maps from NOAA do flow over into Canada, in fact the top northwest corner falls almost exactly on the Whipsaw area...

We do have national averages available for each of our weather stations by clicking here:

http://www.climate.weatheroffice.ec.gc. ... ect_e.html

The closest station to the Whipsaw is Princeton A which is alphabetically listed. But Princeton is only 700m above sea level so doesn't give a good idea of what you're gonna see when you get up to the elevations you'll be climbing. If we're looking at snowfalls, I would be inclined to use a station that's at a similar elevation -- 1800m -- to calculate for snow, such as Glacier NP Mt Fidelity

Hope that helps.

Dave

I bet if a person called the hotel in colemont they would know the snow conditions. as the coal trucks are running almost to the altitude. might just help. i didnt take note of the coal mine name , but if you could find that phone # i bet it would be of some use. all the best. rick.m
