so we went and took a look..

frame was pretty badly rusted in a few spots, we passed on it..

well.. that and the fact my friend couldnt fit in it .. at all..

so we went and toook a look at a 1966 108, even removing the seat, he could barely squeeze in..

are the defenders this tight as well? if so I guess his only option is a range rover or a disco+

Hi Yuppa,
Yeah the series trucks are a little tight, its not uncommon to see a knee each side and a belly rubbing the steering wheel in the middle... it helps when you want to drive with no hands !! (just kidding)

On saying that its something that you can get used to, I'm 6ft 1" and drove a Series 11a for 5 years as my main driver.

The Defender is a little better as you can adjust the seats, but not a whole lot better.

There is a kit that you can buy from England that allows you to cut out, lower & strengthen the cross brace behind the seat which allows you to move the seating position back a few inches. This is an option for really tall drivers.

Like you said, the Range Rover is another option, very roomy and lots of comfort... and getting cheaper by the week! (the older ones).

cheers,
Andy :D
