Spotted today outside the offices of my biggest client; A brand new (you can tell by the "08" registration number and the fact that the tow hitch hasn't been stolen yet) simply delicious Defender 90 truck cab.
I peered through the window and the truck had exactly 18.3 miles on it. 18.3! It must have been delivered twenty minues before I sw it. Man, excuse me whilst I wipe the drool off my keyboard.
BT (British Telecom, the UK's national phone company) buy something like 200 Defenders of all shapes and sizes a year (that's 1% of all Defender production) and UK staff can, in theory, buy them off fleet for around 50% of market value once they reach their planed end of life at around 75,000 miles.
In practice, they get sold in lots of 20 or so to dealers who rake in a tasty profit for simply removing the company logos and giving them a wash.
Boy, if only we could get them in Canada. Sigh.
