:D We had a very good outing today and Kerry showed us Boomerang Lake 5 different times from 2 different directions. Steve N and Kevin in the Rangie, Joanie and I in Mr Piat. Picked up Oliver and Victor, in Olivers 110 in Duncan and proceeded to Timmies in Nanaimo to meet up with Kerry, in his '59 S2, and his gang who ended up being the two Robs.
:lol: So we headed into the waste lands to check out a few fishing lakes that Kerry and one of the Robs had been eyeing up for free fish. We found the lakes fairly easy and then started to look for a nice spot for lunch. Victor was saying that his stomach thought his throat was cut as he was so hungry. After passing Boomerang lake a few times we made our way up Blackjack Ridge. We got the Blackjack, but no Ridge as we made no forward progress up a snow covered hill that seemed to go on for ever. Turn around and head back, pass Boomerang Lake a few more times, still looking for a spot to dine. One and a half hours after Victor had been complaining of hunger pains, Kerry found just the right spot off one of the lakes we had been to earlier.
Had a great lunch with some tall tails, fishing and otherwise. Some with and some without Land Rover content. Decided to check out a set of falls after lunch but Olivers 110 got the flu and started to get cranky. Got so Cranky that we had to tow him through the worst terrain of the trip.
We finally made it to Kerrys place by around 5. Where Olivers truck will spend the night. Some more tire kicking, a round of hockey pop and it was time to get home to Victoria.
We all had a great day with lots of laughs, some interesting driving, and lots of great scenery.
