Northwest Challenge 2010?

#1 Post by HeadDamage » Sun Feb 28, 2010 10:23 pm

Hi,

I'm going to try and get some Alberta rovers out this year but it would be handy if someone could give us a heads up on when and where it will be in 2010. Should be in BC some where I think.

Thanks.

Hi Andrew

We have some prilimary plans in the works but still lots to be confirmed.

What we do know so far is that it will be in Sept or Oct. and will be in South BC.

It is on the agenda for the monthy meeting today at Ricky's, so I hope to post more details as they are confirmed. It would be great to see lots of Canadian trucks entered in this years challenge. (keep working on those Alberta boys!)

Stay tuned....

Andy

I hope this even doesn't conflict with the LR National Rally, Oct. 19-23. That would certainly have an impact on who comes.

Cheers,

Hi Guys,

We will be confirming the dates for the Northwest Challenge 2010 by the end of this week.

We are currently looking at September 17, 18 & 19th and I don’t want it to conflict with any other major Landrover or Challenge events in the Pacific Northwest.

Please let me know if there is a conflict you know about.

Tentatively, the challenge will be held in Squamish, BC this year only 30 minutes from Whistler. So book some time off, if you can, and enjoy a relaxed stay before or after!! :)

I will be assisting Barry and Andrea Newton who are organizing this event.

Thanks,
Don

I don't think that I'm going to be able to make it this time. I just don't have my act together this year.

I was at the Northwest Challenge Volunteer Meeting last night. YOU DON'T want to MISS this one!!! Barry,Andrea, Don and others have created some interesting challenges (not necessarily the destructive type either) and looks like everyone is in for a FUN time.

If you want to be a part of the challenge but don't think your truck is up to the task post a message here and perhaps you can pair up with someone who wants to participate with their truck but doesn't have a partner to go with or visa versa!!

Now is the time to sign up. Go to the NW Challenge header push the button and SIGN UP Now!!!!

Your participation and interest is what makes all the hard work of your fellow Roverlanders worthwhile. Don't wait till the last minute to decide as there is room for only 20 Land rover vehicles, that includes leaf sprung as well.

The Challenge site couldn't get much more convenient for those in the lower mainland, BC Ferries from the island and Sunshine Coast, the interior and the USA.

Looks like a FUN PACKED 2 days, don't miss it!!!! :D :D

Cheers
Ted

Sept 1 marks the deadline to join in the 2010 North West Challenge. I have been involved in 4 of these events and have to say it’s been the most fun and entertainment of all of the events put on by the club. The camaraderie of the contestants and the enjoyment of the competition make for an unforgettable weekend. Call a friend and enter on the North West Challenge link above, you just have to meet the criteria on the list. If you would like to witness the event, volunteers are still needed. Either way don’t miss out. It will be 3 years before it’s here again. Click on the link and check out the web site, if you have any questions, just ask. I’ll see you there.

Hey folks,

I'll sign up for the Challenge...I had a blast last time, 6 years ago. I am worried about not having a winch, however. Can I compete/run without one, or does anyone have one they'd like to lend me? :) I'm pretty stock, other than 2" spring lift and 31" BFG A/T's. On the plus side, this has definately become a trail truck, so scratches and dings don't bother me.

Otherwise, I will certainly be there volunteering! I'd be in my 1999 Discovery I.

PS.Anyone going to be on the Whipsaw this weekend? I am heading up there with a group of mixed vehicles this weekend.

Sincerely

Devin Biln

Devin, go ahead and sign up. You do not have to have a winch, although it is helpful, it is not mandatory. There is a list of requirements on the NWC link above. Hope to see you there.
