2 inch lifts for Discovery 2

Hi,

I'm new to Rover-Landers and for that matter Land Rovers, but I have always wanted one. Hence the Username. I come from a Land Cruiser, Patrol background. So my question is this, I want to run 31s on my Rover instead of the stock 29s and I figure a 2 inch suspension lift will do it without altering the angles of the propshafts to the diffs and T-case too much. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice on doing this with a Discovery? I don't want to modify it too muchas the truck is mint with a full service history just want to run slightly larger tires.

Thanks

D2s are great trucks IMHO. I had one for years and was very pleased with it. I went to 245/75r16s without any suspension modifications and had no rubbing problems on the rear and only a slight steering rub on full turn.

There are many tires to choose from in that size and they are about a 30.5 tire. Here is a informative thread on tire size options http://www.landroversonly.com/forums/f4 ... tion-6885/

Thanks for the information and advice. The truck came with 18s so from the available options of listed tires I should be looking at obtaining a set of 16 inch rims first before hand as then there are for more tires available. One more question. Will the rims off a Disco 1 fit a Discovery 2?

Thanks again.

This is my Disco with 275/65R18 (32") on the 2" lift:

This is the largest tire which I could run without encountering major rubbing issues on the front wheel. 2" lift is the most you can probably go without having to deal with changing brake lines, adversely affecting driveline geometry, etc.

A regular spring lift does not change tire clearance since the axle travel is not changed, only the ride height. 32s fit on a Disco 2 stock.
