Hey everyone

I know that Colin has done some scouting for the upcoming rally, is there any interest in doing a bit more scouting this coming weekend? Saturday afternoon or Sunday are possibilities for me.

Regards, Rob

Hi Rob, either of those days work for me if Lord Lucas wills the 110's ignition switch to work. It's like Russian Roulette right now.

May bring a Jeep.

I would be up for this on Sunday, as I won't be able to come to the camping fun weekend because of work!

So how about we sleep-in a bit on Sunday and meet at the Tim Hortons at the north end of Duncan at 11:30? We can head out Copper Canyon, check out if it is open KM 22 , check out the cabin road on Mt Hall, maybe look at Banon Creek access? We can plan to be out by 6 as Colin has covered a lot of the ground already. Whose in?

If you're coming would be best of you're VHF (HAM) equipped and the usual spares, recovery gear and a snack/lunch for the road.

I'll check the BLOG on Friday to make sure the gates are open.

Sounds good. We have a CB in the LangRover, No VHF yet! Always room for improvement.

Just checked the Island Timberlands blog and the Chemainus Main gate is open this weekend 8AM to 6PM. So far we have two trucks going, any one else planning to go out on this scouting trip? If you don't have VHF (ham) then a FRS/GRMS walkie talkie is OK too (we usually have spares as well). Please confirm if you're able to attend. Meet at the north end Duncan Tim Hortons at 1130 on Sunday.

Regards, Rob

We are good to go, but only have CB, so will have to borrow an FRS radio is that's ok.

Nice day for a Rover Ride!

3 trucks went out and 3 trucks came back, yes... it was the same 3 trucks :) Did a bit of scouting up toward Holyoak and Mt. Hall. Encountered snow near the top that made for slow going but nice scenery and some great climbing and descent trails though there was a lot of dust at the lower elevations. 3 rovers, all coilers: ( 2 110 5 doors and Disco 1). Thanks to everyone for coming out.

Regards, Rob

Here's a couple of pictures to prove we did it:
