Seems to me it might be a good idea, no scratchs .... no corrosion ?
But it would be permenant, it comes in all colors, not sure what it costs
Thoughts ?

I once saw a Range Rover P38 in this at Don's in North Vancouver. It looked the business, but I think they said it was heavy.
Unless you're doing a brand new Rover, I think the biggest thing would be making sure there was absolutely NO corrosion on any sprayed part. Trapped and spreading rust under all that would be bad.
Other than that, it sounds great. A nice Tangiers Orange like the G4 vehicles would look nice.

A decade ago or so a local seller would literally encase the vehicles he had for sale with carpet and bed liner. The engine bays were particularly interesting with all the wires and fittings bed lined.
It didn't come as a surprise to many of us that the bed liner covered up a plethora of problems. You can't access or maintain what you can't see. To make dramatic alternations like bed lining to your vehicle you should plan on keeping it for a very long time as it's market value will be dramatically reduced. Land Rovers values are proportionate to there originality.
Just my thoughts...

I thinks Stuart's point about devaluation of the vehicle for resale is the main reason to avoid this idea. I've had line-x in pick-up beds before and it is very tough stuff. I wouldn't hesitate to use it in an application where abrasion resistance is the paramount concern. I once saw a Land-Cruiser totally covered in black bed liner, seriously ugly but a killer bush truck.

On a Land Rover, it does not do much for corrosion as the skins are aluminum. All of the steel bits are hidden. When used on the outside of a vehicle, it is nearly impossible for it to ever look clean as the dirt sits inside the rough surface.

red90 - good point about the corrosion.
Stuart & Bill are correct on value. I guess it depends on the Land Rover. A classic series truck, no. Blasphemy! A P38, while much more comfy, is less of a concern when it comes to resale values. :D
