Hi everyone, I was wondering if it is alright to mix Polybushes with Standard bushes on a 109? The standard ones are in the parabolics and the Polybushes would be going in the chassis. I'm not sure if it will be a problem or not.

I would say if preferable to keep them all the same if possible, mainly because the two different materials have different properties as far as flex, twist, friction etc...
But on saying that, it is an old Land Rover and as long as you match the left and right bushes ( same mix on both sides) then I doubt you will have any problems.

I can't imagine it being a problem. Just the fact you have new bushings is a huge gain.

Unless the frame bushing are shot (which they probably are), you should be ok with poly on springs and rubber in the chassis. But, nice new poly bushing are likely to wear out what’s left of the chassis bushings more quickly. And that means you should really replace the chassis bushings while you have the opportunity.
And that, unfortunately, means you get to go through the special torment of getting the old bushings out. But it’s worth it. Pretty sure.

The Chassis Bushings were in varying conditions. The Fronts were okay but the rears were done. I have rubber bushes in the springs because they came that way. I went through the torment of taking the old bushings out. It was quite satisfying when they came out. I put new poly bushes in the frame. They were black, not orange. Don't know if that makes a difference.
