Mine snapped on the way home last week. Second time in 30 years. :-(

Drove home shifting the stub with vice grips...

Anyone on the Island have a spare lever that they are willing to part with?

Cheers,

Paul in Victoria.

I should have one Paul, can your old one be welded? I can weld it up as well.

Maybe it could be welded but I've heard of people trying and just having it snapped again.

If you have one that's great! let me know what you want for it, I could pop by this weekend.

Cheers,

Paul.

Been there, done that! Drove 80 kms in 3rd using hi lo to give me some gear range.

mig welded it back together with gas, held well. my recommendation is to tack it while it is still in the truck so you can get the angle right.

Found my spare lever. Looks like it's already been welded so not sure it would be any better than welding yours.

Sorry, I somehow missed your reply Matt. I ended up ordering one from Blighty. It arrived last week and works well. Thanks for your offer! I'll probably weld up my old one for use as a spare when the new one breaks 50 years from now.

Here is some important advice!

Weld up the NEW one before you start using it. They are (or, were) designed to break.

IMHO
