Trailer to Vancouver Island?

Is there anyone out there planning a trip to the island in the coming weeks with an empty trailer?
I'm trying to get a chassis shipped from safari hp in Florida but the introduction of the ferry on the shipping route seems to have flummoxed their logistics people.
Happy to pay my share of the trip. I'm up in courtenay.

You could try City Transfer Inc. - I'm not sure if they ever cross the straight but may be worth checking.....

The cheapest way would likely be a sturdy roof rack as there is no extra ferry cost for over height.
The second best option is probably a $19.99 per day U-Haul truck

It's a rolling chassis complete with engine and transmission so I'm not sure I've got what it takes to hoist it onto the roof
Good point on the uhaul truck though... I only thought about trailers but I might think about rolling it into the back of a moving truck

Feeling like coal's to Newcastle just now!
Just had a basxxxx of a morning hauling a 300 tdi, and transmission, over the side of a U-Haul trailer with sides that were too high, on a steep driveway. Anyway, shortly on our way to our new place in Maple Bay.
Not sure about legality, but U-Haul do have dollies. Maybe the load would have to be licensed, like a trailer.
Can you not rent a car trailer?
Eric.

well I can.. Just gets to be an expensive trip as I've got to rent truck and trailer and the ferry gets pretty damn expensive at that length. When I went over to pick up the rover I'm working on it ended up being a 700$ day plus time lost from work. So there is a bit of a convenience factor as well. I'll probably end up picking up in vancouver with trailer or truck. Being just the chassis I'm comfortable towing with just my SUV so that will save a bit in rental and a bit in length on the ferry
