I have a 1967 2a with what appears to be bed stripes on the front fenders. Is this a factory thing or someone's attempt at customizing? I havent been able to see any landrovers on the internet with this done. Any ideas?

I have to ask, what are "bed stripes"?
Not an original thing whatever it is.

they are galvuinized strips that ( on mine ) are on the bed of the box. They are also shown in the series one manual but havn't found anything on them being on the fendaers.I have seen the same concept in the Chev box wooden floors. apporximatly 1 in wide with 2 raised ,rounded over edges. Will atempt to up load picture this week.

Never seen this before... sounds like a custom job. Cool idea tho - do you have a photo?

Yes, I know what they are and No they don't belong on the fenders. It is not uncommon to put aluminum checker-plate pieces on the fenders. I suspect the bed pieces were an attempt at adding wear-ability to the fenders the same as the checker-plate does.
