Hello everyone

I am looking for some advice for a protective coating for a set of welded steel rocksliders. The sliders are coated with a product called "zero rust" which works well as a primer but it needs a UV protecting top coat. I am looking for something more durable than paint and I am considering either pick-up truck bed liner or rocker guard spray. Anyone use either of these products and your thoughts on the durability and touch-up or recoating? Any other coating options that can go over the primer that you've used successfully?

I'm in favour of good old tremclad for a top coat, and cheap as chips! Get some universal enamel hardener from Ladysmith auto parts, $20, mix 4 parts paint to one part acetone, and a dollop of hardener. Dries in about an hour in even freezing weather and darn near bullet proof!!! Did my frame and all under the body in my truck that way and it was great!

In my experience enamels wear off and you get rust bleed through in a couple of years if you drive in the winter where there is winter. Polyurethane paint or bed liner holds up. Galvanizing is the best.
