Yes, but it was a charity auction, so the number has no real meaning. Just a tax write off for someone.

Gentlemen, it sounds more like sour grapes to me. I won't be using you for international tax advice either, as, in Canada donations to a foreign charity do not qualify for relief from Canadian income except under very special circumstances which these are not.... As for Land Rover getting a tax break, you are right in a sense, when you give away something that cost you money it's called a loss.

Can't you just be happy that the proceeds are going to worthwhile charities?

It seems the buyer is from Kuwait. I have no idea as to Kuwaiti tax laws. Neat car. Tidy sum. I thought there were very few diesels there, so it will be a rarity in many ways. We won't have to worry about it rusting, though. :mrgreen:
