Hello everyone, My name is Geoff and I just picked up a Series 2a from Alberta a couple of weeks back. now the fun begins.
not sure how far I will go with a rebuild, It's in pretty good shape as it is, I would like to bring it back to original, except for 16' wheels.
needs paint, might try rolling as everyone has suggested. still on the fence with that.
any advice would be great
thanks
Geoff

That's very nice-looking! I just picked mine up from Saskatoon, but it looks more "careworn" than that!

Looks like a great condition Land Rover, a very nice find!

In my opinion I wouldnt worry too much about being totally original, better to take a couple of upgrades as long as they are from say a Series 3 Land Rover (and not a Mazda 6).. I consider time spent enjoying the vehicle is a much better use of time than stripping it down to get it totally original & having it off the road for years ....

...as one wise man said, "you cant take it with you at the end, so you better enjoy it while you have it" ...

Cheers, Andy

well I have taken all the easy things off. I'm going to try and roll paint. I painted the cap with Urethane the other night, nearly killed me, not sure if I want to paint the rest with that. I found Tremclad has almost the exact same color yellow I need but not sure if it will work out. It's easy to get, cheap, and if I scratch the paint it's easy to repaint.
anyone have a better idea?
thanks
Geoff

Urethane is the best. Tremclad will not last long if driven much. Looks great in the pictures. Why the desire to paint?

Paint is really faded on passenger side, I found a brushable/rollable urithane at DuPont so I'm going with that. They are color matching for me.
Thanks for the help
