Hi All,

As I have been a little lazy in updating the website calendar this year, I wanted to put some info out there on the whats coming up...
Mark the dates on your calendar ....

Aug 22nd-23rd - Our next club run, we are kicking around some ideas and will post the details soon.
Sep 1st-6th - Is the 6 day Oregon Coast loop including the Portland ABFM
Sep 19th-20th - Cabin Lake, North of Hope.
Oct 3rd-4th - Our annual End of the Season BBQ run, Placer Mountain loop, This years dinner / camp out will be on the Ashnola River.
Oct 17th (or 18th) - Our October run - details to come.
Nov 21st (or 22nd) - One day run into the local mountains.

Wait a minute! Does that mean we aren't doing Whipsaw for end of season run in October?

After 26 runs through the Whipsaw :confused2: we figured it was time to change it up a little......

I'm up for the Whisaw anytime!

LOL ... we could always start on the Coquihalla run through the Whipsaw, cross highway#3 onto the Placer Mountain Loop and end up with dinner on the Ashnola River .... :occasion5:

Bold statement! 8) I'd say 3 or 4 trucks, no problem. 7 or 8? Might be a long day!

Not sure if anyone has been up the spot circled in red below, but it seemed like a good little side trip for day 2 of a Placer trip. We only made it maybe two thirds of the way up, halted by a fallen tree in a wooded area, without a saw. Only saw a few ATVs up that way, but they didn't seem to mind a little Land Rover on the trail. Some old abandoned cabins up there, and open grassy hillsides. This was also Labour Day weekend last summer, so doesn't seem to be a very popular spot.

That looks like the peak of Placer mountain? We were up there in July 2015 on a club run,
This is a photo of the peak.

Hmm, appears Placer is on the left half of the map I showed. The Ashnola River camp spot is in the middle of the map where I headed straight south and then turned around. The area I am referring to is labelled on maps as "Crater Mountain". Its on the Keremeos side of Cathedral Valley (which is that big dark green area at the bottom of the map.

Ahhh, yes, now I have taken a second look at you map, I see where you are talking about....

We did pass that turn off on the way out to Hedley, I think I remember the other Dave B saying he's explored up that way one time .... Maybe he will chime in with some info?

I'm down for whatever....lets get dirty. upper hut?

Would the Oct 17 run be too late for Whipsaw?

In mid October you can expect to find 2 to 12 inches of snow on the higher elevations. Should still be drivable unless we have a really bad snowy Sept/Oct. No dust, no bugs, lots of big puddles, October is a great time for the Whipsaw .......

Great, looks like Oct 3-4 is actually one I'll be able to make... here's hoping nothings changes.

Man oh man, this is just not working out for me. I missed the sept run and had the third weekend of Oct booked off but can't make the Oct run on the 3rd. I'm working on something for 17th 18th. Anyone interested in a Whipsaw run that weekend? I'll be doing something. Still working out details.

Not finalized yet but it's looking like We are doing a fossil beach overnight run on the 17th back 18th. Probably will run the power-line route if anyone is interested.
