Tinted glass question

On standard TD5 Defenders in the UK they have tinted glass front screens, the tint is a very mild green, almost clear. Do Canadian customs refuse entry to TD5 vehicles because of this? Has anybody come across this problem before?

Customs could care less about thing like this. They are only verifying age and that is has not been stolen. All road requirements are set out in rule at the provincial level. Inspections are performed prior to registration.

This is part of the provincial inspection. While tinted front windows is strictly verbotten in Canada (not just BC) a factory tint is GENERALLY overlooked.
That said, much of what inspectors look for has a certain amount of "wiggle room" I have seen inspectors call out things any other would let go. Given that... best to speak to an inspector before dropping $100 on the inspection. Most are reasonable. but you get the odd one who absolutely hates rhd vehicles.

You would probably do better at a mechanic who knows Land Rovers for your provincial inspection. We have a number of sponsors you could try.
Some mechanics may be all at sea when it comes to LRs. (I had a 'concerned' mechanic who thought I didn't have a fuel filter. "It seems to be missing..." "It was under the rear fender last time I looked." "Oh...")
An ex-UK or ex-Europe Land Rover is rather different than just turning on the daytime running lights and checking for French language warning stickers on a late model Ford or GM.
